Caudalie – when the office grows with you
Behind the gates of a 300-year-old building in Paris, one of the most innovative cosmetics companies has moved into its new headquarters: Caudalie. Along with 160 staff members, Caudalie’s existing USM furniture made the move and adapted to its new workspace.
Caudalie’s origins date back to 1995. It was during a grape harvest that Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas met Professor Joseph Vercauteren and learnt about his research into the antioxidant effects of grape seeds. The couple then went on to develop a range of creams and dietary supplements that harness these benefits. It didn’t take long for success to follow: just a few years later, nearly 2,000 pharmacies were already selling their products.
The combination of pharmaceutical credibility, a strong research culture, and an early commitment to using safe ingredients have led to Caudalie’s rapid growth. The family-run business has now become a major player in the cosmetics industry.

Over 20 years together
The new headquarters combine raw materials such as wood, metal and concrete with a soft colour palette. The pure white USM Haller furniture used throughout the office blends in perfectly with its surroundings. Arranged in various configurations, the pieces structure the different work areas and provide valuable storage space for employees. Some of the pieces have been with the Caudalie team for a long time: Originally used in the company's previous offices, they were disassembled and redesigned to meet the needs of new workspace.
Bertrand Thomas selected the first USM furniture for the Paris office back in 2005. He was not only impressed by their simplicity and practicality, but also by the prospect of developing the furniture alongside his business. That idea proved right: today, the modular furniture system can be found at every one of the brand's locations worldwide, with some components having travelled across multiple continents.

Sustainability as a key factor
Caudalie is strongly committed to environmental protection. To support this commitment, the company donates 1% of its revenue to the global network "1% for the Planet“ and has become the third largest donor worldwide. Against this background, it becomes clear why the company attaches such great importance to the sustainability and recyclability of its furniture system. According to Bertrand Thomas, choosing USM sends a strong message, both internally and externally, of long-term investment, trust, and appreciation for the teams.

Office furniture that grows with the business
And what about tomorrow? At this rate of growth, even the new premises in Paris will probably become too small one day. But no matter what decisions are made, there's no doubt that our USM Haller furniture will continue to accompany Caudalie wherever they go.
