The house was offered to Sylvain Dabos by its former owner for him to restore it. She knew it would be in good hands – namely, those of a specialist in craftsmanship. The Dabos family has been renowned for this ever since Sylvain’s great-grandfather founded a carpentry business. Over four generations, it has grown into a company specializing in made-to-measure wood fittings, interior design and renovation.
A home that inspires
Together with his business partner, architect Marine de Bouter, Sylvain decided to carry out a comprehensive renovation of the house in Agen. It was to become his new home as well as a showroom for Atelier Dabos. Today, the simple, elegant style shows off the furniture to its best advantage. Visitors can see the materials, feel the quality of the finishes, and experience the effect of the lighting design. These impressions are particularly valuable when making interior choices. Some clients even return several times during their project to draw inspiration.
A splash of colour for the kitchen
USM Haller occupies a special place in the interior, as it comes in various configurations. Atelier Dabos has chosen the modular furniture system to design shelving, bedside tables, a walk-in wardrobe and more, each tailored to the space and its function. Some of the components originally came from Dabos’s offices and were redesigned for private use. The system’s versatility is also reflected in its colour scheme: while the pure white USM Haller furniture blends seamlessly with the leather, wood, marble and muted tones, one piece in golden yellow adds a striking accent to the kitchen.
