Entry to the B612 Library

Built in 1990, the original library had quickly taken centre stage in the hearts and habits of the inhabitants of Saint Genis Laval, the metropolis of Lyon, France. But after 20 years, a refurbishment was essential.

Entrusted to Playtime, the renovation project aimed to improve thermal insulation, bring in natural light and completely reorganise the interior space.

The interior space has been redistributed into thematic islands: on the ground floor, news, literature / fiction, children's area and digital. On the first floor, documentary, comics, image and sound. There is also a work room dedicated to students.

A yellow mobile information point, matches the majestic staircase in the centre of the building, and allows visitors to be welcomed and guided to different spaces. USM furniture is present in a wide variety of colours and configurations.
